Eastland Redevelopment Opens

The new Eastland Shopping Centre redevelopment has officially opened!

Maroondah BUG is pleased to see several improvements to cycling-related facilities at the redeveloped shopping centre.

At the northern end, a newly constructed shared path takes you from the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail up to a secure bicycle storage cage near Kmart Tyre and Auto. Whilst this is yet to be fitted out with bicycle hoops, we look forward to its completion.

At the southern Town Square end, we are pleased to see the installation IMG_3512of many bicycle hoops just off to the left of the main Town Square. These provide a covered, safe place to lock your bike whilst you shop. Additionally, numerous smaller banks of hoops have been installed at the entrance to the new Realm Ringwood Library, as well as throughout the Ringwood Station and Bus Interchange upgrade. The Parkiteer secure bicycle cage at Ringwood Station is yet to open, however works are continuing.

Additionally, cyclists can find another bank of bicycle hoops at the West Five entrance (corner Ringwood/Bond St). Enter from Ringwood St and turn right immediately.

We hope that additional bicycle parking rails will be installed on the east side once the redevelopment is completed.
